Lake Lanier Fishing Report (4-10-2012)

Lake Lanier Fishing Guides. Fishing report from April 10th, 2012

I have been on the water just about every day since my last report. The weather and fishing has been great. With the weather warming up so fast we are about a month ahead on what the fish should be doing. Right now there are fish staging on main lake points in 10-25ft of water and there is a bunch of them in the backs of the creeks feeding on the spawning blue back herring. Freelined herring or shad on these points has been the best producer. This past week I started adding a split shot to weigh it down a little and seems to be working better. We have caught some on downrods but not enough to say the downrod bite is here. If the weather continues like its been downrods are around the corner. Overall this has been the best spring I have seen in a while.
