Lake Lanier Fishing Report – September 15th 2012

Lake Lanier Fishing Guides. Fishing report from September 15th, 2012

Striper fishing on Lake Lanier is starting to have its up’s and down’s this past week.It happens every year about this time. These cool nights we are having is slowly bringing the water temps down which makes for a transition period. Everyday for the next few weeks is going to be real inconstant. One day will be off the charts fishing with fish everywhere and the next day you will swear there is no stripers in Lake Lanier. I am still sticking with the down rods for right now but will have topwater plugs, umbrella rigs and free lines on board in case the fish want something different. Don’t go out there with a one track mind. The topwater bite should be kicking off any day now. Redfins, Spooks and Sammys are my plugs of choice this time of year. The good thing about the weather cooling off is the pleasure boaters are going to start staying at home!! I hate giving not so good reports but thats why they call it Fishing not Catching. You have to take the good with the bad. Good luck to everyone. See you on the pond!!
