Lake Lanier Guides Fishing Report – September 20th 2011

Lake Lanier Fishing Guide. Fishing report from September 20th 2011

This past month fishing has been tough. There are a lot of smaller fish to be caught but the bigger ones are few and far between. Most of the fish have been showing up on 40ft humps on the southend of the lake. Downlines and freelines with split shot on them have been the best bite for me but the trolling guys have been plucking away at them with u-rigs fished 90-140ft back. The spotted bass bite has been great. They are schooling up with the stripers on theses humps and have been hammering the blue backs. Plus we have been getting into a few catfish and walleye too. Starting to see schools of fish coming to the surface with the water temp dropping. Fishing should start picking up with the weather cooling off.
