6-27-10 Lake Lanier Fishing Report

Written by jeffblair on June 29, 2010

Numbers have been great this past month. We have been getting lucky and catching some teenage size stripers on some days but for the most part they are running 3-8 pounds. The bigger fish are moving out over the trees in the channel and we are catching them 25-35ft down over a 75-100ft bottom. The numbers of smaller fish are still up on main lake points and humps being caught 18-25ft down over a 20-40ft bottom. Downrod herring has been producing so good I have not been trolling much. The water temp was 89 this past week so it is pushing the striper deep. The next two months will be some of the best fishing we have all year.
