The downline bite is on again. Water temps are rising quick and the stripers are schooling up on points and humps in 20-30ft of water. Freelines will still put some in the boat but downrods will get you more. Still catching a few fish on bone redfins. This past week we started catching quite a few on a 6″ bone bomber. Herring seems to be working better than shad but if you get on a group of fish that will not eat a herring they will eat a shad. The next few weeks our size of fish are going to start going down but the numbers are going to go up. Now is a great time to get the kids out with the faster action.
